Keeping Your Dog Hydrated

images-1.jpg

We are all aware that dogs need water but all too often we don’t provide enough water through out the day.  It is generally agreed that dogs need 1/2 to 1 ounce of water for each pound they weigh.  During extremely hot days and when exercising your dog, he will require much more water.   Their water should be clean and fresh.  Lake, pond or standing water may contain bacteria or insecticides that can be harmful to your dog.   When your dog appears to be panting uncontrollably he may be becoming dehydrated and you should provide him several ounces of cool water that will help cool you pet.  An automatic dog feeder will help provide the water a dog needs.
